There is a post going around tumblr where the OP basically said 'Star Trek Into Darkness AU ... Spock is behind the glass instead of Kirk' I laughed and facepalmed at the same time.
I admit I only knew about this other version of the scene because my friend told me the reverse was done in the TOS. Never followed Star Trek so didn't know. *blush* I've enjoyed the two Star Trek reboot movies very much though. ♥ Shame that OP didn't do a little research to see that scenario did exist already.
It's funny, I guess I've always been surrounded by Trek that I didn't even think that other people may not know the canon, and this is coming from someone who didn't pay much attention to it until recently. I guess I've just always been a latent fan! XD But as you said, a little research goes a long way. Especially since it's so easy to stumble upon the death scene from TWOK without even typing into google 'Spock dies.'
