Oh My God
I accidentally just discovered one of the songs I sang in All County, when I was in 5th grade, was originally written by Mozart for a castrati.
I'm so happy right now.
FYI, this is a modern day real life man named Michael Maniaci who never experienced puberty like other guys.

Impressive, yes. But it's just not the same as a natural male soprano, if there's anything natural about it.

Date: 2009-05-31 08:16 pm (UTC)I vaguely remember some drama with an alternate who didn't 'make it' and wasn't selected to go to the real auditions. Strange how we had a cap, but ah well.
