So I need help from my LJ friends, hope you all are willing!!

Here's the question.  
Should the US/NASA push for human exploration of Mars?  
I'm looking for reasons supporting or not supporting Mars exploration.  What would be some positive or negative contributions to going to the red planet?

I think yes.... because the world is getting crowded more and more. Going to the red planet will help our population, so that mankind would not extinct...
